- bonjour, je recherche le grand pere de mon fiancé qui etait polonais en ecosse vers 1942 , date a laquelle la mere de mon fiancé est née.
- ce soldat polonais aurait rencontré Joan Cuff de Lochore pres de cowdenbeath.
- je n'ai pas de nom, je recherche juste des infos, pourriez vous me communiquer le nom des soldats presents sur la photo pour mes recherches !! merci !!!.

- My great Grandfather Stanislaw Kucharczyk thought within the Polish 1st Armored division 24 lancers and I believe he is in this photography and was interested to know if this could be clarified.

- Hi there, I think my father and my uncle are in this picture.
- My fathers real name was Zygmunt Tydda, but he had a sudinim during the war and my uncle is Bob Wiesneski, not sure of the spelling.
- They sometimes mentioned training in Fort William, Scotland, but I know for sure my father was trained and operative in the American O.S.S.
- but in his medal box there is the crest on this unit on a fabric badge.
- I think they may have served in or with this unit as well.

- Relatives we did not know existed .

- Hi could it be possible to get a copy of this picture as it has my grandad in it second row from bottom third from the left,he was in the polish army his name szymon szatylowicz born 1910 czeremcha he ended up in scotland with the war i have other photo's of him in the army if you would like me to send them to you ?

- i am sure the man in the second row from the front, third man in from the left was my father stanislaw cieszkowski.
- he died in 1958 when i was six..

Mon père faisir partie de la 1ère DB ( 2ème régiment d'artillerie de campagne ), et je possèdes quelques photos d'Ecosse ou apparaissent les mêmes tentes, mais je pense que tous les camps étaient équipés de la même manière.
- Mon était en camp à Crawford en 1941.

- The photo is the presentation of a new standard to the 9th Polish Lancers in the town of Biggar in Lanarkshire.
- My grandfather was the local Church of Scotland Minster (Lutheran Priest) and was at the ceremony.On the 31st August 1940, in the town of Biggar new colours from the citizens of Glasgow were presentedby the Lord Provost of Glasgow, (left in photo) Patrick Dollan to the Polish Army.
- Present at the ceremony were General Sikorski, PM and C-in-C of Polish Forces and President Raczkiewicz The students of the needle-work Department of the School of Art, Glasgow contributed to the making of the standard The design featured a Polish Eagle and the Glasgow coat of arms.
- The old Colours of the Regiment had been destroyed in Warsaw in 1939.The 9th Malopolski Lancers were formedin 1809 and later re-formed in November1918 when Poland won backher independence.
- The Regiment disbanded at the end of 1947.
- After the war the standard was laid up in the Polish Institute and General Sikorski Museum in London..

- I think that the fellow, fourth from the left in the back row sitting down may be my father Kurt Leon Matuszek.
- Although by 1944 my father was invalided out of the army and was then the Polish Consul or Assistant Consul in Glasgow.

- 1st from the rhs.
- "Could" be my father Wladyslaw Tadeusz Sierpinski.
- If I could get a more legible photo I would be able to confirm this.
- His Polish war service number was X2723.
- I also have some photo with groups of soldiers if of interest.
